Wilson-Covington begins the restoration of the front porch on a 1930 home in the Ardmore Historic District of Winston-Salem, NC. This work includes removing aluminum siding, repairing damaged framing, fabricating and installing new trim details, stripping paint, installation of a new 3-tab roof, installation of new metal coping cap, and finish painting.
Wilson-Covington is nearing completion of the foundation installation under the 1814/1850 Salt-Flax House in Old Salem, Winston-Salem, NC. This project is a complete restoration of the home to the 1850 configuration to be used as a personal residence. The house has been temporarily shored, the basement dug out approximately 2′, and a new CMU foundation wall laid underneath on a footing. This wall will be filled solid and waterproofed on the outside. This will allow for structural stability and for the owner to finish the basement to be a mechanical room, office, scullery, kitchen/dining area, and powder room.

Wilson-Covington removed the existing reconstructed fort and installed 2,000 hand-worked pine posts on the original site of this French and Indian War era fort, the only one of its kind on the original footprint in the South.

Wilson-Covington completed a full interior and exterior restoration of this early 19th-century timber-framed Georgian home. This included all plumbing, electrical, and geothermal heating and cooling. Original wainscot, mantles, and overmantles were reinstalled and new trim and windows fabricated to match the original where missing.
Wilson-Covington is pleased to be featured in the current edition of The Longrifle- the Old Salem publication for residents of the Historic District- for work completed on the Salem Square water pump.
